Miles Wildlife Sanctuary
Skunk cabbage and other swamp vegetation abound...
The former owner, Emily Winthrop Miles, was a sculptor, writer, and philanthropist.
This couple is doomed to be forever separated.
Another view of the lady...
...and her lover
They live at the bottom of these stairs...
At the back of this long-empty reflecting pool.
Another view of the house
Lots of wetlands - that's a beaver dam in the foreground (but the beavers weren't out playing today)
Just for fun, a black-and-white shot
Another angle on the swamp in the valley - the winter my daughter was born (1999) we had about a half-dozen bald eagles living here - I'd walk around the pond, watching them and waiting for her to be born.

The Sharon Classic 5 mile race
The annual fundraiser for the Sharon Day Care Center is fun for all ages. I ran (ok, jogged and walked) in the race but took pictures as I went!
The little kids' fun run - we're off!
Some people had company as they ran, some people preferred to watch!
The fun run comes in
Registering for the adult race
Final instructions, as family members watch
Runners Ready!
Go!
Already falling behind...
Road race? what road race?
The scenery along the way is lovely!
I can still see a few runners ahead of me - not everyone has disappeared!
Fields of gold
Spring cleaning
This is just their outbuilding - you should see the main house!
One of many on "Mansion Row"
Another one
I love this shot!
Girl and boy scouts at the mile markers shouted out your time,
encouragement and handed out water.
Those who didn't run found other things to do.
Happy ending - my husband ran the 5 miles in 55 minutes. I finished - enough said!
Jim was too busy representing the hospital to run!
K. found another way to work on her fitness.
The kids got creative while they waited for mom and dad to finish.
