Everyone throws candy

Lots of candy! 
Parade's over ... everyone (except me) went down to the flagpole for the ceremony.

It's such a small town that if you sent me a letter just to Jenny, Sharon, CT 06069 there's a good chance I'd get it! (If postmistress Kelly gets her hands on it, it's a sure thing!)

Here are about a dozen pictures of the sanctuary. The land is owned by the National Audubon Society. This picture would have been a lot prettier if it hadn't been cloudy - I'll try to go back on a nicer day and shoot much more! There's a nice trail all the way around this pond - when I lived here I got some great photos (in the pre-digital age, tho!) 
The former owner, Emily Winthrop Miles, was a sculptor, writer, and philanthropist.

Another angle on the swamp in the valley - the winter my daughter was born (1999) we had about a half-dozen bald eagles living here - I'd walk around the pond, watching them and waiting for her to be born.

The annual fundraiser for the Sharon Day Care Center is fun for all ages. I ran (ok, jogged and walked) in the race but took pictures as I went!

Happy ending - my husband ran the 5 miles in 55 minutes. I finished - enough said!
