Maple sugaring at Sharon Audubon
It's Maple Sugar season here in Connecticut.
Collecting the sap, one bucket...
or two...
Or three at a time. Then it's time to boil it.
You could do it the old fashioned way, outdoors, or go...
Into the sugar house!
This is a little more high tech, and you can monitor the temperature.

It takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup and it takes a long time to boil down.
All these photos were taken by my daughters - they've learned well!
