Audubon Sugar house

Behind these sliding doors it's all quiet now, but in a week it will be filled with families who will come to see this traditional process as its been done for generations.

The sap is boiled down in this thing - stoked by a wood fire, the whole shack is filled up with lovely sweet steam.

The sap looks and tastes like water - it takes 40 gallons to get one gallon of syrup.
